BREDE Hangeland has backed Bryan Ruiz to come good for Fulham.

The £10.6million deadline-day signing from Dutch outfit FC Twente has endured a tough start to life in England.

Ruiz missed the decisive penalty in the Carling Cup exit against Chelsea in midweek, and fluffed his lines again from point-blank range against West Brom on Saturday as the Whites search for a first Premier League win of the season continued.

But Hangeland insists it's only a matter of time before the Costa Rican starts banging the goals in at Craven Cottage.

He said: “It was a big chance for him to score but I'm sure he will come good and get some goals for us.

“He seems all right and needs to keep going. He looks good in training and he needs time to adapt to the style of play in the Premier League.”

Fulham dominated for long periods at the Hawthorns but couldn't make their possession count.

“I felt we played all right but should've won a game like this,” added the Norwegian defender.

“We totally dominated the first-half and should've had a goal to show for our performance. But it could've went either way in the end.”
