FULHAM are closing in on the signing of £3million-rated Roma keeper Maarten Stekelenburg .

The Whites tried to sign the 30-year-old in January, only for the move to collapse on deadline day.

However, boss Martin Jol is understood to have revived his interested in the Holland international, who is believed to be due in London next week to finalise the deal.

Stekelenburg could replace Mark Schwarzer as the club's new number one after the veteran Australian rejected a contract extension at Craven Cottage.
