Slavisa Jokanovic has won the battle to keep both his want away strikers - and make sure Fulham avoid relegation.

Eyebrows were raised when the manager insisted neither Ross McCormack nor Moussa Dembele would leave in this transfer window - and Jokanovic was three quarters right.

Hard bargaining has made sure Dembele will join Tottenham as he undergoes a medical in a deal worth £6 million, and then get immediately loaned back until the end of the season.

Jordan Rhodes has signed for Middlesbrough and the knock-on effect suggests McCormack will be staying put whether he likes it or not after handing in a transfer request.

Between them they have scored 28 of Fulham’s 43 goals, and with Cauley Woodrow injured, it would leave Joka and Whites with only one recognised striker - and even he is wanted by Bristol City for a second loan spell.
