Slavisa Jokanovic still believes Derby striker Chris Martin is one of the most important players in the Championship, and is disappointed that his time at Fulham wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been.

Martin was signed on loan from tomorrow's opponents but had an up and down spell at Craven Cottage, refusing to play against Reading in an attempt to force a move back to his parent club.

However, Jokanovic continued to back him once he returned to the fold but he struggled to get onto the scoresheet and eventually finished on 11, something which the Fulham boss doesn't believe is his best level.

The two cross paths again tomorrow and Jokanovic wishes his former striker all the best, except for the 90 minutes that Fulham and Derby lock horns for tomorrow.

He said: "Chris Martin is a good footballer, he helped us last season and had some up and downs during the season for different reasons.

"I am a little bit disappointed because he could enjoy a little bit more with us than he was enjoying in the last season with Fulham for different reasons.

"He was little bit unfocused to offer his best version of this player, but at the end he is one of the important players in this competition and one who can guarantee you many goals.

"With us he scored only 11, what is not the best mark for him, and at the end I remember he was a good boy, a good footballer and we had some situation and now I don’t need to make so many comments about a Derby player.

"I wish him all the best, but less for being successful in tomorrow’s game."
