Kit Symons is ready for a battle against Rotherham tomorrow but is determined to give the travelling Fulham fans something to cheer about.

The Whites are yet to take all three points from a league game this season, losing two and drawing two.

Despite that, the Millers are worse off having drawn one of their first four games, tasting defeat in the other three.

And Symons expects Steve Evans' side to be up for a battle when they meet at the New York Stadium.

He said: “You know they're going to work their socks off. They'll be organised and incredibly hard working.

“You always know you're in a battle and a fight and, if you're not up for it you'll get turned over.”

The fixture marks the end of the opening phase of the season with the international break starting after this weekend and Symons wants to enjoy the down time.

He added: “It's always nice to go into international breaks on a high. All teams will be saying the same.

“Only one team can win it. We're going to approach the game in a very positive frame of mind.”

Returning: Ben Pringle, in action for Rotherham, shoots at goal leading to an own goal from Fulham's Nikolay Bodurov

It also marks Ben Pringle's return to the Yorkshire side for the first time and Symons believes he hasn't given it much thought.

He explained: “I don't think he's given it too much thought. I think he'll be looking forward to going back.”

Fans have been on Symons' back so far this season and he is desperate to turn their opinions round and give them something to cheer about.

He said: “I thought our fans were brilliant on Tuesday night and our away following also very good.

“We want to give the people who spend the money and take the time and effort to follow the team something to cheer about on the way back from Rotherham, which is no short trip to say the least. We want to go into that international window with our tails up.”
