Slavisa Jokanovic has revealed a heart-to-heart with Jazz Richards after the defender lost his starting slot at Fulham – and wants him to consider switching to another position on the pitch.

Ryan Fredericks is the current winner of the battle to play right-back, but the gaffer has had a chat with the man he dispossessed about the immediate future.

Now Joka thinks the Wales international, hoping to be a part of his country’s Euro 2016 push can play elsewhere.

The manager explained: “Jazz played good games at the beginning, but we switched the structure and Ryan came in.

“It’s always a question of what the (game) plan is.

“Jazz can be a full-back for both sides, and he can also be one of the centre backs too, and I spoke with him and am hoping to open his mind.

In place: Ryan Fredericks

“But he’s ready and he’s going to be an important in the future.”

Richards made the switch from Swansea permanent in the summer after a loan spell with Fulham last season.

Fredericks and Richards duelled with each other for the starting berth on the right side of defence, but the Welshmen, who ironically started out as a midfielder with Swansea, was restricted to just 96 minutes on the pitch last month.
