QPR fans believe their club let Raheem Sterling go to Liverpool too easily when he was just 16.

No matter Hoops pocketed a whopping £9 million sell-on when the England international moved on to Manchester City - Rs devotees felt Hoops missed a trick.

However, Fulham insist the much coveted 2016 version of Sterling is staying put at Craven Cottage.

In fact, the club has already got Ryan Sessegnon tied to a pre-contract that triggers a three-year deal next May when the defender turns 17.

Tottenham are amongst a string of admirers of the academy product, but Whites' boss thinks the loss of teenagers Patrick Roberts and Emerson Hyndman to the Premier League is a non starter this time.

One that got away: Patrick Roberts (R)

Roberts moved to Manchester City in August 2015 and then on loan to Celtic, and Hyndman swapped the Cottage for Bournemouth in the summer.

Jokanovic says enough is enough.

"We have to be strong and show we are serious in the football business," he added.

"This is the start of Ryan's football trip, and we try to protect him after only seven or eight games. At the end of the day a football player wants to play football games - and that is with us.

"He’s really talented, but he’s not prepared yet for the highest league."
