Rene Meulensteen hailed keeper David Stockdale after his Gordon Banks-like late save earned Fulham a 1-1 draw at Norwich .

The former Darlington shot-stopper somehow kept out Ricky Van Wolfswinkel's goalbound header to deny the Canaries victory and force a replay.

"A draw's a good result away from home," said boss Meulensteen afterwards. "David Stockdale had a Gordon Banks-like save to keep us in the game.

"It was definitely one of the best saves I have seen. It was a fantastic cross by Garrido and a great leap by Van Wolfswinkel.

"I honestly thought it was in, but it was a fantastic save. That's what makes football so exciting sometimes."
