Fulham are haggling a deal with Turkish giants Fenerbahce for Kostas Mitroglou, according to reports quoting the misfit striker’s agent.

Panagiotis Galariotis confirmed the Whites are hoping to offload the costliest mistake in the club’s history - but the fee may still prove a sticking point.

Fulham paid £12 million for Mitroglou in the 2014 January transfer window, only to discover the player was either injured or less than match fit.

He made only three nondescript appearances as the club took the Premier League plunge before being loaned back to the club that sold him.

Fulham want their money back, while ex-Olympiakos and current Fener manager Vitor Pereira wants to reunite with Mitroglou, as exclusively revealed by getwestlondon.

Galariotis said: ”For some time Fenerbahce and Fulham are in negotiations about Kostas. Everyone knows.

“The claim that Kostas does not want to go to Istanbul is not true. He is a professional and Istanbul is a beautiful city. The chances are 50-50. The point is to for the two clubs to strike a deal.”
