Fulham’s narrow defeat to Championship leaders Burnley would have frustrated manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

The hosts fell behind early on to a Sam Vokes header before Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele put the Whites ahead.

And although second-half goals from Vokes and Andre Gray condemned the struggling Cottagers to defeat, fans would not be too disappointed.

Here are five things we learnt from the Tuesday night clash.

Luke Garbutt can be a valuable asset

The on-loan Everton left-back was sensational throughout the game, particularly moving forward.

The 22-year-old was an ever-present when the Whites moved forward, and his cross led to the Moussa Dembele’s goal for the hosts.

If he can keep up this form, the Cottagers should definitely enquire about his availability for the next Championship season.

Jokanovic’s 3-5-2 is perfect for Fulham

The Whites looked in fine form through the second half, with Jokanovic’s preferred 3-5-2 formation working wonders.

Tom Cairney, Scott Parker and Ryan Tunnicliffe proved a fantastic trio to counter Burnley’s gritty midfield led by Joey Barton.

The hosts also created a plethora of opportunities in the first half and proved that Jokanovic’s formation is perfect for them.

Fulham can break down any team

Going into the game, Burnley conceded merely 27 goals from their 35 games - a stark contrast to Fulham’s 58.

But that did not deter the Whites, who fell behind early on, only to hit back with a double strike of their own.

The Whites continued to cut through the Clarets and create chances - leaving Whites fans pondering what might’ve been this season with a more solid defence.

Fulham need to improve their focus

Not for the first time this season, the Whites found themselves on the wrong end of a result after dominating for periods of the game.

Particularly in the first half, the hosts were well on top having reversed the deficit, only to be undone by two lapses of concentration.

Jokanovic will certainly look to improve the defence over summer - and if he can work on improving their concentration, they will improve vastly for next season.

Survival should be on the cards

Fulham conceded three times against the league leaders, but the Craven Cottage faithful would not be too disheartened by the result.

The visitors, after all, were the highest scorers in the league going into the match, and the Whites have hardly had the most steady defence.

But in this game, and in glimpses over the season, they have showed enough to prove Jokanovic right - that the Whites have enough about them to survive the drop this season.
