Fulham boss Kit Symons will take all the luck he can get.

His team survived a nervy second half against Blackburn after racing to a 2-0 lead, and can give thanks to lack of goal-line technology as well as a string of fine saves from keeper Andy Lonergan.

The second tier has yet to produce the camera angles that would have shown the ball DID cross the line from Grant Hanley's effort despite being scooped away by Jamie O'Hara as the last 45 reached a climax.

Grateful: Kit Symons

Rovers also hit the post - twice - and Lonergan's fine form did the rest, not least a great dive left to deny Craig Conway's curler as well as a terrific first-period save from Ben Marshall, reminiscent of Gordon Banks' legendary dive to thwart Pele in 1970.

Symons breathed a sigh of relief at the end.

"It was an uncomfortable second half," he admitted. "Andy Lonergan made some important saves and they put us under huge pressure. They are a big side, it was tough, we had to be resilient.

"We gave away a very soft penalty which gave them a lift, the non-goal was a tough call but I am not going to apologise for getting a bit of luck."

The win moves Fulham up to a healthy 11th in the table.
