AFC Wimbledon defender Andy Frampton could return to the squad for the trip to Carlisle on Saturday.

Frampton has recovered from a broken ankle and after taking part in a full training session on Thursday has travelled with the team.

George Francombe is unlikely to feature having not fully recovered from a toe injection earlier this week while Harry Pell serves the first of a three-match ban following his red card against Southend in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek.

Dons boss Neal Ardley told the club's website he has 'quite a few niggles to worry about' but believes he has the squad to cope with any absences.

He added: "With certain positions we now feel even more confident that there are players who can come in and do a good job because they did that on Tuesday against Southend.

“I think Carlisle changed their shape several times when Graham Kavanagh was in charge and it is difficult to plan. All we can focus on is being as organised and focused as we can be and put in a high level of performance as a team. If we do that then they will have to be really good to win the game.”

Meanwhile, Matt Tubbs, who scored the winning penalty in the shoot-out win over Southend, has been awarded the League Two player of the month award.

The on-loan striker scored five goals in all competitions in August to win the accolade.
