Lewis Macleod found the net as he looked to prove his fitness in Brentford B's 3-1 win over Reading.

The bees had trailed early on but the Scot, who had been out of action for a year after a serious knee injury, turned home a low cross to equalise.

Herson Alves found the net early in the second half with a fine finish to give the west Londoners the lead.

And Raphael Assibey-Mensah sealed a 3-1 win late on to give the Bees' young stars the victory.

Macleod will be hoping to be making his Brentford return at Cardiff on Saturday as it has been over a year.

The midfielder has had his time at Brentford blighted by hamstring injuries. He was limited to just seven minutes of action up until the end of the 2016 campaign.

He was a regular in the side at the start of last season but suffered his knee injury in the 2-0 win at QPR last October.
