Sean Goss has been hitting the gym over the off-season to add strength to his game ahead of his first season of senior football.

QPR brought the former Manchester United man to the club in January and Ian Holloway saw the midfielder as one for the future.

The 21-year-old had a difficult first six months at Loftus Road but has been working hard during the off-season to hit the ground running when the Rs take on Reading in the season opener in four weeks time.

“It can be tough when joining a new club in January,” he told the club's official website.

“So I’m buzzing for the new season. Everyone’s at the same level and it’s time to push on and gain a regular starting spot now.

“I feel really good. I had a good break and also worked hard over the summer. I tried to build up my body weight, and things like that.

“I know that I need to bulk up especially. But I’ve been working hard and I just need to carry that on.

“The Championship is such a physical league. You can get away with it (being lighter) in the reserves, but I’ve always wanted to bulk up.

“Doing so in the summer is the perfect time. Training is not as intense and you can do it.

“I’ve been working with the boys in the gym – and I had a training plan to do over the summer.

“I’ve stuck to it and I am seeing the results. Now I just want to keep improving them.”
