Steve Lomas has warned Queens Park Rangers fans to expect a few more years in the Championship.

The midfielder, who played for the Hoops for two seasons from 2005 to 2007, does not believe the club are equipped to challenge at the top of the league.

And he thinks it might take a few years before they can get back to the promised land of the Premier League.

The 43-year-old said in an interview with betting company bwin: "I think QPR are at least two or three years away from being promoted to the Premier League again.

"I look at the squad and I wonder if they will get enough goals. They've got [Matt] Smith, [Conor] Washington and [Jamie] Mackie, but I don’t know if they have enough goals beyond those three to secure a place in the play-offs.

"I can see it being another tough season for QPR and their fans."
