Brentford favourite Sergi Canos is delighted to be going into a summer where upheaval is unlikely after a turbulent 12 months.

The popular Spaniard made his one and only Liverpool appearance after his loan spell at Griffin Park last season before he was sold to Norwich.

His time at Carrow Road was a nightmare as he fell out of favour with Alex Neil before returning to TW8 and he couldn't be happier to be back in west London.

“It was a difficult year. To settle down in Norwich and then moving to Brentford and settle down here again,” Canos said.

“All the credit to Brentford and the fans; they welcomed me unbelievably and I could show what I am.

“I'm nice and relaxed now. I don't want to move. I'm happy where I am. I want to be here and that's all that matters. I'm really looking forward to next season.”

Canos, rarely seen without a smile at Griffin Park, was disappointed after the 3-1 loss to relegated Blackburn but knows it's time to rest ahead of August.

He added: “We would have been happier with a win but what can we do? They played their game and what they knew.

“It's disappointing to end the season on a loss after what we've played in the last few months. It's time to enjoy holidays, rest and be ready for next season. Next season looks amazing.”
