Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has emerged as an early contender to become the next Brentford boss.

The Bees are on the look-out for a new manager after Uwe Rosler left Griffin Park to take up the managerial post at Wigan Athletic.

Former Chelsea star Hasselbaink is in charge of Dutch side Royal Antwerp, but was recently linked with the Middlesbrough job before Aitor Karanka got the nod.

And the 41-year-old could be in the frame to replace Rosler, with the ex-Leeds striker the bookmakers' favourite for the vacant Griffin Park hotseat.

Rosler's exit was confirmed this morning, with Alan Kernaghan and Peter Farrell taking charge of the team for this afternoon's FA Cup clash at Carlisle United.
