Sone Aluko has revealed Reading manager Jaap Stam was one of the key factors in him leaving Fulham for the Madejski at the end of the transfer window.
The Cottagers, who signed Aluko on a free transfer from Hull the season before, got a reported £7.5m for the forward who made 54 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Despite Slavisa Jokanovic not wanting to lose the 28-year-old, Aluko made the move a couple of days before the window closed and he has now revealed that the Dutch manager was one of the main reasons he chose to join Reading, stating that their style of play will suit him.
Speaking to Reading's official club website, he said: “He’s got a good shape about them, likes to play a good brand of football which I’ve learned this week and I’ve been enjoying it.
“It’s one of the reasons I came here, because of the manager. After speaking to him and how he wants to set up, I think it will suit my style.
“Sometimes you just want to get in and get playing, but it’s been good for me to learn how the other boys play, letting them know how I play.
“It has been a lot to take in but it’s been good."
