Former Brentford head of recruitment Andy Scott has been confirmed as Watford's UK Football Recruitment Director.

The 45-year-old's primary focus will be on the UK and the club's academy and his role will be to help the club look to bring the best young British players into the club.

Filippo Giraldi will be continuing in his role as the Hornets' technical director and he will have the overall responsibility on the club's recruitment strategy.

Andy Scott has joined Watford FC as UK Football Recruitment Director with a primary focus on the UK and the club’s Academy.

“We’ve taken the opportunity to enhance our recruitment operation with the appointment of Andy,” explained Watford Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury.

“He will play a key role in further developing our UK infrastructure, helping the club to retain its edge and agility of action in an increasingly competitive environment.”

Scott's time as head of recruitment at Brentford saw the club sign the likes of Ollie Watkins, Neal Maupay and Henrik Dalsgaard.
