Former Accrington Stanley chairman Peter Marsden has taken up the same position at Wealdstone FC .
Marsden held the post at the League Two side for the past four years and has had an active association with the Lancashire-based club since 2006.
From 2012, under his leadership and guidance, he has been instrumental in stabilising and progressing Accrington Stanley, both financially and on the field performance.
Most recently Peter oversaw Accrington’s achievement in reaching the League Two play-off semi-final which they narrowly lost to AFC Wimbledon over two legs.
Born and raised in Wembley, Peter went to school in Harrow and is a former Wealdstone supporter from the Lower Mead George Duck era, now returning to the fold. He runs the Peter Marsden Property Finance company, and resides in Cricklewood.
Peter has had links with Wealdstone for the last few years through his grandson, who has played for the youth set up at Grosvenor Vale.
Peter Marsden said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Wealdstone as Chairman after what has seemed to be a long wait to get things properly in place! I hope to be able to use my experience of 10 years at Accrington Stanley to positive effect and I am looking forward to working with the board.
"I am ambitious and make no excuses for the fact that I want to drive success at Wealdstone both on and off the pitch; I believe that the relationship between Chairman and Manager is massively important and is an aspect of the role I really enjoy. But most of all I want this journey to be fun and I look forward to meeting Stones fans very soon so that I can share my vision and passion for football and most importantly success at Wealdstone.
"I think Wealdstone have as much potential as any non-league club in the country and my job is to light the blue touch paper"
Wealdstone FC president Paul Rumens said: "It's very rare to find someone who can come into a club without wanting to buy it outright or have an ego to massage. However, in Peter Marsden we now have someone to invest in us and bring with him his footballing friends and business associates to help steer us onto the road to where this club truly belongs.
"These people buy into Peter's straightforward vision for the club, which is to put the best team out on the pitch and start to look up the table, enjoy the football and have some fun!
"Obviously that comes with many challenges, but it's not just money that makes the difference and Peter's wealth of experience over 10 years at Accrington Stanley will go a long way to helping establish Wealdstone FC in the upper reaches of our current division. The longer term view is to get us into the top tier of non-league football as soon as is practicable. It won't be easy.
"Exciting times lay ahead but we will ALL have our part to play in taking the club forward. It will be inclusive. Peter is very approachable, so make him feel welcome as he's a football fan like you and me and a blue and white one at that now!"
