With the news that Wayne Rooney has left Manchester United to join boyhood club Everton, we decided to have a look down memory lane to see which former QPR players you'd like to see back at Loftus Road.

Having asked the fans on Twitter, here is the list of five former Hoops who would be welcome back on West London.

Charlie Austin

Number one on most people's lists. Austin was extremely popular during his time at Loftus Road, with maintained that popularity after leaving the club, which is quite rare. Currently playing at Southampton, Austin will be hoping for a consistent year in the Premier League.

Alejandro Faurlin

The Hoops faithful were sad to see Faurlin depart the club last summer. The midfielder, who struggled at times with injuries, enjoyed a successful campaign with Getafe, seeing his side promoted to La Liga for the upcoming campaign.

Raheem Sterling

A West London boy who secured a big move to Liverpool back in 2010 before enjoying a successful career to date with the Reds and at Manchester City. Looks set to continue his career at the highest level, but a homecoming to Loftus Road would no doubt be well received by the Hoops' fans.

Joey Barton

A divisive option. Whether you were a fan or the midfielder or not, it was hard to argue the impact he had on the field of play. A natural leader, I'm sure many of the Loftus Road faithful wouldn't turn their nose up at the idea of a Barton return after his ban.

Adel Taaraabt

A wildcard choice. A player who could enthral and infuriate in equal measures. But no question about it, Taaraabt would no doubt be welcomed back with open arms if he could show a glimpse of what he was capable of.
