Line 'em up! As if there is not enough on the plate of the new QPR boss - here are the priorities he needs to sort.

Getting the best out of Leroy Fer

The new QPR manager has to get the best out of Leroy Fer. That will mean playing him in an attacking midfield role behind Charlie Austin.

It is not often a Championship side can boast an international midfielder with 11 caps for Holland, and Rangers must use that to their advantage.

Fer finally seems to have put his injury woes behind him, having completed 90 minutes against Preston last week.

He has gradually come back into the side under Ramsey and Warnock having failed a medical at Sunderland in the summer which is again testament to his Premier League quality.

Charlie Austin (L) Alejandro Faurlin

The return of Alejandro Faurlin

Neil Warnock has said that his Championship winning QPR side was built around Adel Taraabt and Faurlin.

The Argentine is once again fit after suffering three cruciate ligament injuries in three years and deserves credit for the mental strength demonstrated during his rehabilitation.

His quality has never been in question and the QPR fans will be itching to see him back in the side under the new manager.

Back: Charlie Austin

Keeping Charlie Austin

QPR struggles this season saw Chris Ramsey sacked with the club an unlucky 13th place in the Championship table.

Despite a stuttering start, Austin has still managed to score seven league goals in 16 games playing up front on his own.

With January on the horizon, a host of Premier League clubs will once again look to tempt the striker away from the Hoops.

Austin's price is £15m, which is a tempting amount of money for QPR, but they would be unlikely to replace him with another proven goal-scorer in the January transfer window.

The new manager would instantly become a fans favourite should he convince Austin to stay and get the best out of him - at least until the end of the season.

Neil Warnock looks on

The role of Neil Warnock

The 66-year-old's official position at QPR is interim coach following the sacking of Chris Ramsey.

The club have reinforced the fact they are looking to bring in a new manager but Warnock has moved quickly to add his own stamp by adding Kevin Blackwell to the coaching staff.

The board will undoubtedly clarify Warnock’s role as and when the new manager appears, less the new man fears his position is compromised at the get-go by the ex-Rangers and Crystal Palace chief's continued presence.

New: Massimo Luongo

What do to about the summer signings?

QPR made a number of additions in June, July and August.

Full-backs James Perch and Paul Konchesky have cemented themselves as first choice thanks to their vast Championship experience.

Tjaronn Chery has shown glimpses of mercurial talent while Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has shone in part when recalled to the team.

Massimo Luongo and Daniel Tozser have failed to set the world alight, while new keeper Alex Smithies has yet to mount a serious challenge to Rob Green, and it will be up to to new manager and board to decide whether additions are needed and can be afforded in January.
