Fulham have had an amazing season so far, after many tipped them to be in the bottom half of the table, after only scraping relegation last season, the Whites sit nicely in 7th place just one point behind Sheffield Wednesday in 6th.

With just eight games left of the Championship season, here are five reasons why Fulham can make the play-offs.

Ryan Sessegnon

Not only do Fulham have some of the finest Championship players in their squad, but they also have one of the hottest talents going at the moment in the shape of 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon, who has been catching the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

The youngster, who has scored four goals this season, has already made 24 appearances for England U19s, and has said that he is ignoring interest from Premier League clubs, and is focusing on winning promotion.

Tom Cairney

Fulham also have Tom Cairney, one of the Championships best players this season, so much so that it earned him his first international appearance for Scotland against Canada on March 22.

The midfielder has also attracted interest, but Fulham have put a price tag on him in the region of £20 million, following interest from Championship title contenders Newcastle United during the January transfer window.

The ‘run-in’

Fulham have an easier run of games leading to the end of the season than some of their competitors, facing four teams in the bottom half of the table, including last place Rotherham.

The Cottagers do however come up against Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season, but as Fulham showed against Newcastle, they are capable of beating teams above them.

Slavisa Jokanovic

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has already won promotion from the Championship, finishing second with Watford back in the 2014/15 season.

The Serbian, who has experience of managing in the Champions League, saved Fulham from relegation last season, finishing just one place above the drop zone, and set a target to finish in the top six this season, and is close to achieving this.

Superior Goal Difference

Fulham have a far superior goal difference compared to teams around them, with +19.

Sheffield Wednesday in 6th have +9, in fact, you’d have to go up to to the top two in the league with Brighton and Newcastle to find a goal difference better than what Fulham have, meaning The Cottagers have the third best in the league, so teams won’t want it to come down to the goal difference come the end of the season.
