Two goals from Andy Johnson on Saturday and a favourable draw on Sunday have given Fulham a perfect opportunity to reach the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Johnson's double gave the Whites their first away win of the season in all competitions as they saw off Championship side Sheffiueld Wednesday at Hillsborough.

And their reward for progressing in the competition is a fourth round tie against non-leaguers Kettering Town later this month.

The Blue Square Premier League team beat Eastwood Town 2-1 at home to set up the tie at Rockingham Road on the weekend of January 24/25.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is more concerned with making progress in the Premier League than the FA Cup, however, and admitted he did not find the trip to Sheffield easy and that it bore an uncomfortable resemblance to the tie with bristol rovers a year ago which ended in a replay defeat on penalties.

"I didn't enjoy that," he said. "Bristol were like Sheffield Wednesday, hard working and well organised, and we lost on penalties. It was important for us to show we had made some strides forward in a year and that we are a better and stronger club than we were then. This result proves my point."
