Kevin Feely has returned to Charlton from his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon without kicking a ball.

The Addicks youngster signed for the Dons on a short-term deal at the end of November but has seen his Kingsmeadow stint cut short due to injury.

Feely broke down in a training session 24 hours before Wimbledon’s defeat Bristol Rovers with a hamstring injury, which will keep him out of action for weeks.

It means he will return to the Valley for treatment over the Christmas period and leaves Dons boss Neal Ardley short on cover at the back with Will Antwi still unavailable.

“Kevin suffered an injury a day before the Bristol Rovers match, but we did not know how serious it was at the time,” Ardley told the club’s official website.

“After following the correct medical procedures, it is clear that the injury will keep Kevin out for a number of weeks.

“It is a grade two hamstring strain and Kevin has therefore gone back to Charlton for treatment. We will assess the situation in due course.”

AFC Wimbledon are due to return to League Two action on Saturday when Mansfield are the visitors to Kingsmeadow.
