Dean Thomas sees no reason why his Bedfont & Feltham side cannot pull off an upset by knocking Leighton Town out of the FA Cup today.

Leighton play two levels above the Yellows in the Southern League Central, but won't relish coming to The Orchard for the preliminary round tie to face a Bedfont side who have had a stunning start to the season.

Thomas's troops, who have already knocked out a higher division side in the extra preliminary round in the shape of Wellingborough Town, sit second in Combined Counties Division One following Saturday's 1-0 win over Cobham, thanks to a Patrick Craig strike.

Thomas said: “A lot of the lads have played at a higher level so know what it's about, and lads like Patrick Craig, Luke Craig, Jim Ward and Jason Pinnock will have played against Leighton for Egham Town.

“I watched Leighton play Kettering last week, so there will be no surprises, and there are no expectations for us, so we can go out and enjoy the occasion. We have also won four out of four, so go into the game full of confidence. For a new squad the boys have gelled so quickly.

“I've never done much in the FA Cup as a manager, but as a player I reached the first round proper with Kingstonian, where we played Leyton Orient in front of the Sky cameras. We didn't pull off a shock that day but it was highlight of my career, and days like that are once in a lifetime for non league players. Now it's up to the boys to write their own chapter.”

Also looking to pull off an upset are Combined Counties Premier side Hanworth Villa , who host another Southern League Central side in the shape of North Greenford United.

However, their form in the run up to the game has not been as impressive, with Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to Molesey seeing the Villains drop to 15 in the table.

Sitting out of the FA Cup fun following their extra preliminary round exit will be Bedfont Sports , who will instead visit Colliers Wood United in the Combined Counties Premier.

Mick Snowdon's men did, however, move up to 10 place on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Farnham Town, in which Jordan Esprit hit a hat-trick.

In Division One, CB Hounslow United , who grabbed a 2-2 draw at Ash United on Saturday thanks to a Daniel Bartlett strike and an injury time leveller from Barry McWilliam, visit Dorking tomorrow.

On Tuesday night, the Southern Combination Cup takes centre stage, with CB hosting Sandhurst Town and Villa, if they are not involved in an FA Cup replay, visiting Knaphill.
