Clint Hill starts training with Rangers today - but promised GetWestLondon he will read our QPR reports next season.

The 37-year-old defender believes he has landed on his feet in securing a one-year deal at the Scottish giant where he will link up with former Brentford boss Mark Warburton on the club's return to the Scottish Premier League.

Hill was shown the QPR exit along with six others at the end of the season having hoped to stay on in some capacity - even as a player coach.

But the fans favourite now thinks he can round off his career in style.

He said: “This is a massive opportunity for me, but I will be following your reports on how the Rs are doing next season.”

Backing: Neil Warnock says Clint Hill will do well at Rangers

His ex-boss at both Crystal Palace and Hoops and the man responsible for bringing him to Loftus Road in 2010 also believes he will thrive north of the border.

Neil Warnock told the Daily Mail: “I think Clint could be a very good signing for Rangers.

“Not just on the field of play, off it as well.

“Clint is a good professional. When you are a young kid that can’t help but rub off on you.

“When you see someone like that, who has been around the block, but still wants to die for the cause it’s inspirational.

“I think Clint gets on with Joey Barton and I wouldn’t be surprised if Joey recommended him.

“Rangers have some good players, some good passers. But sometimes you need a bit of steel and Clint is like that.”
