Ex-QPR manager Neil Warnock has hailed Fulham as the best side in the Championship play-offs but believes anything can happen in the end of season showpiece.

The current Cardiff City manager was speaking after his side's 3-0 victory over other promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town on the final day of the season - a team he himself got promoted with in the mid-90s - which meant that Sheffield Wednesday would play Town, while Fulham would face Reading.

Fulham have beaten all three sides in the play-offs this season, and have only lost to one, which was Reading in a 1-0 defeat in a game that was rearranged after the first tie was abandoned due to 'fog'.

And the ex-QPR man reckons Fulham are the best team in the play-offs, although he doesn't believe they have the best defence, while he is delighted Huddersfield have got Wednesday.

He said:"Fulham for me are the best team in the Play-Offs, however they haven't got the best defence, so anything can happen this year.

Neil Warnock watches on as his Cardiff City side are knocked out of the FA Cup

"I think Town have done fantastic and I voted for David Wagner as second place behind Nigel Clough for my manager of the year.

"What Wagner has done here is unbelievable. I think sometimes expectations soar and he has been able to bring things back down to earth.

"It has been great for them to get into the Play-Offs, and to have that chance of promotion.

"We beat them comprehensively here, yet the fans stuck with them which is great.

“I'm glad I'm going to be sat on my deck chair watching the Play-Offs, I'll be envious of the other managers that are contesting them that's for sure."
