Everton manager Roberto Martinez isn’t sure which Chelsea side will turn up at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

The Blues have endured their worst season in the Roman Abramovich era as Jose Mourinho was sacked and Guus Hiddink was parachuted in before Christmas.

Hiddink has steadied the ship but the club’s Premier League campaign looks effectively over as a top-four finish appears to be beyond reach.

Wednesday night’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain also ended their interest in the Champions League, leaving the campaign hinging on this weekend’s FA Cup tie.

Toffees boss Martinez is aware of the added importance this fixture has now taken on for the west Londoners and feels the PSG loss could affect Chelsea in one of two ways.

“It depends how you want to look at it,”

if you are being pessimistic (from Everton's point of view), you'll say Chelsea will now be focusing on the FA Cup.

Chelsea's thrilling January meeting with Everton in pictures:

“If you are being optimistic, you'll say maybe they won't have a feel-good factor after Wednesday's result.

“The reality is they are an outstanding team and we all know what they have achieved since Guus Hiddink has come back.

“I think we are both looking forward to this footballing occasion and we know it's a very important opportunity for both clubs.”

Aaron Lennon and Bryan Oviedo are doubts for Everton while Kevin Mirallas will miss the game through suspension following his red card against West Ham last weekend.

“The squad has always reacted with bravery and responsibility,” Martinez added.

“We are looking to make sure we embrace being in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

“We have already been to the semi-finals of the League Cup, which I think gives us the inspiration to be able to perform well at this sort of stage of a competition.”
