Brentford match-winner Nathan Elder admitted he has been short of confidence in recent weeks - but  is now getting back to his best.

Elder headed home a Dean Bowditch cross for the only goal of the game in The Bees' 1-0 win at Luton last night and could have taken home the match ball if were not for Luton goalkeeper Conrad Logan, goal line clearances and some wasteful finishing.

"I could have had at least a hat-trick," admitted Elder. "I just need to practice keeping my composure.

"I felt so much better today and had more confident in myself  - it came after coming on as a sub on Saturday.

"My attitude was different to how it has been in recent times.

"I have been lacking confidence - the other teams have been able to see it, the fans can see it and the gaffer can see it.

"But Saturday was a massive turning point - it will be different from now on."

The win moved Brentford up to sixth in L:eague Two.
