Relaxed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reckons the club are ‘almost there’ in their negotiations with Eden Hazard’s representatives over a new contract.

The Belgian superstar’s current deal doesn’t expire until 2017 but the Blues are ready to make him one of their top earners with fresh terms.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been admirers of the 23-year-old in the past and the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are keen to keep him in SW6.

Hazard has been in talks with the club since September and Chelsea are understood to be preparing a five-year deal worth around £200,000 a week.

Mourinho says the deal is nearing completion and both parties are remaining calm about the situation despite negotiations taking longer than originally expected.

“No problems,” Mourinho said.

“Soon [it will be signed] but I’m not worried because they are almost there. He’s [Hazard’s] not worried. The club knows that almost will become done. No problem.”
