Queens Park Rangers slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Derby County on Friday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

It was not a vintage performance from the Hoops, with Matej Vydra's goal 20 minutes from time proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Substitute Idrissa Sylla had Rangers' best chance, hitting the post with a header two minutes from time.

“I’ve been delighted with what we’ve been doing. Tonight, we lost to a better team,” QPR boss Ian Holloway said.

“We started quite brightly, we looked confident in the first five or ten minutes. It just waned away.

“I didn’t see us sharp enough.

“We’ve been sharp and they were sharp in the warm-up so it’s nothing to do with the group and how they’re developing.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t play anything like we have been.”
