Dean Smith lauded the recent form of Nico Yennaris, who has been piecing together a run of performances that have made him an early contender for player of the year.
The former Arsenal man has been an ever-present for the Bees for the past season and a half and, so far this campaign, has found the net on three occasions.
With competition for places in the Brentford midfield tight, what separates Yennaris from the rest is his ability to find the net and Smith has been thrilled with his contributions.
“He's showing what a good player he is and he's added goals to the talents that he's got. We have five top players in centre midfield and any one of them could play at any time,” he said.
“You saw last season with him breaking into the penalty area and I remember his goal against Aston Villa. He arrives really well there.
“We've got a good balance. Romaine can dictate the game. Woodsy can dictate it from a different position. Josh can do both and Kamo's handling of the football has been top drawer.”
Smith has challenged his midfield trio to add more goals to their games, especially with winger Florian Jozefzoon getting off the mark for the campaign.
He added: “We have to add goals from all sides and it was pleasing to see Flo get onto the scoresheet with a superb free kick.
“His second half performance against Sunderland was outstanding and we want more from him.”
