Dean Smith is pleased that Brentford have been handed a home FA Cup tie against Notts County.

The Bees will face the Magpies on January 6 with a 3pm kick off and adult ticket prices are £10 (standing) or £15 (seating).

And Smith is relieved his side don't face a trip to Nottingham instead and will be going all out to avoid a cup replay.

He said: “I'm pleased we are at home. That was important. You don't want to be playing an FA Cup game against a team in the same league.

“They're going well under Kevin Nolan. You don't want to be travelling too far. I'm looking forward to it.”

The Bees will be making changes from their league fixtures with the likes of Lewis Macleod, Josh McEachran, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis and Alan Judge all potentially involved.

But Smith has insisted that he will take the competition seriously.

He added: “We've taken all cup competitions seriously with the quality of players at our disposal we can use that when it comes to the game.”
