Brentford head coach Dean Smith revealed that Lasse Vibe was forced off at Ipswich with a foot injury, just 10 minutes after coming on.

The Dane replaced Neal Maupay, who had taken a knock of his own prior to being withdrawn, but pulled up after taking a shot, with Theo Archibald coming on.

Smith was also unhappy with the way Maupay was treated by Oliver Langford, who missed some fouls on the Frenchman while penalising the Bees striker on others.

Maupay earned himself a yellow card for dissent and this was also a reason for his withdrawal.

Smith said: “It was a foot injury. He said something happened to his heel as he ran onto the first one which is a blow.

“I thought Neal had done ever so well. He got battered and didn't get protected by the officials and he got a knock before that.

“He was on a caution and he was getting frustrated. Lasse came on but unfortunately he hurt his foot.”

Vibe will be assessed but it is unlikely he will be risked when Brentford travel to QPR in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
