Dean Smith is hopeful of bolstering his squad during the remaining weeks of the loan window.

Brentford are thin on the grounds at the moment due to injuries and player sales and recent form has seen them slip down the table.

And Smith confirmed that he has been looking to bring new faces in to give him more options.

He said: “I have been looking for the last few weeks. We've made a couple of enquiries but nothing has come off. I'm hopeful something will happen next week.

“There's a few areas (we're looking at). We're shy at the back. If Maxime is out longer term. Nico can play right back and midfield.

“We've got Alan McCormack coming back. We've got three centre forwards not really firing so there are loads of areas we can strengthen.”

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has been linked with a move to the club on loan but Smith refused to comment on the striker.

He added: “There's a number of players we're looking to bring on loan. Naming names would be wrong of me.”
