Danny Simpson reckons QPR’s promotion rivals should be running scared because Rangers haven’t got out of first gear.

The Rs head into the international break in third spot following Saturday's 1-1 draw at Reading, just two points behind leaders Burnley.

And while the Clarets are playing out of their skins, Simmo believes Harry Redknapp’s boys are just getting started.

He said: "Some of the other teams up there with us are maybe playing as well as they can. Whether they can keep that up for the rest of the season, time will tell.

"But for us it’s a good sign that we’re not playing to our maximum potential but we’re keeping the ball and we’re still comfortable.

"It has been a good start. After everything that happened last season and what has gone on around the club it is stable now.

"We have a good squad and at the start of the season we would have snatched your hands off for this.

"If we can do the same again in the next 15 games we’ll be going in the right direction for promotion and really happy."
