Dan Bentley has heaped praise onto the team spirit in the Brentford dressing room, revealing the squad all get on with each other.

The former Southend man has bedded into the west London club incredibly well since joining on July 1.

And he has put that down to the character of the Bees' dressing room and the fact the squad all have similar personalities.

Bentley said: “There's always banter flying around the changing room and the training ground which is a natural help to team spirit. We all get on well as a team and we have similar personalities.

Brentford celebrate after taking the lead

“There are no bad apples in the changing room. It's a very self managing changing room. All we have to do is focus on what we do on the pitch as opposed to forming relationships with people you can't get along with.

“The way we've developed as a unit is down to the way we've come together as group. Even when there's people not in the team, they're supporting those that are.

“It's a great place to be in terms of the togetherness in the squad and you can see that when the lads are on the pitch and perhaps that's why we get a late goal against Aston Villa or go and bang four in in 20 minutes against Preston. Team spirit has a part to play in all of those bits.”
