MATCH-WINNER Damion Stewart says the decisive moment in Wednesday's cup tie is one he will never forget.

The defender, who deserves the highest praise for his defensive contribution as well as the goal, told the Gazette: "That is maybe my most special goal for QPR so far - especially as it came against a good side like Aston Villa. It was a great moment.

"It was great scoring in front of our fans too. I had a couple of mates up there in the stands and it was very exciting for them, though I couldn't see them.

"I realised I was free when the cross came in and I was just hope-ful I would make a good connection and I did.

"I've been getting chances recently and if I get them, I always back myself to score.

Stewart added: "It was great testing ourselves against Premier League opponents and doing that well proved we can go to other places and get results.

"This season I feel we've been growing stronger in our defending and the team's doing well so far and if we keep that up, we will keep getting good results.

"I think we've got a reasonable quality squad now and when one person is out, it doesn't really hurt the team. We have quality to fill the gap.

"There is no reason why we can't go even further in the competition now. We saw Cardiff go to the FA Cup final last season so it's up to us to continue with the good results to see how far it takes us."
