Bedfont & Feltham boss Wayne Tisson reckons winning the Middlesex Premier Cup makes up for the likelihood of missing out on promotion from Combined Counties Division One.

The Yellows made sure of ending their first season as a merged club with some silverware after Seb Philogene scored the only goal of the game in last Wednesday's final against Staines Lammas.

It meant Tisson has landed the trophy two years in a row after also winning it as Feltham boss last year before their merger with Bedfont Social Club.

They have also been on the fringes or the promotion places all season, but despite Luke Craig scoring the only goal of the game at South Kilburn on Saturday, the Yellows look like falling short of the top three place they need to apply for a Premier Division place.

They would have to win both their remaining games – at home to Banstead Athletic tomorrow and away to Epsom Athletic on Wednesday – and hope third placed Eversley & Californian lose both their remaining games to do it.

Tisson said: “Just winning the county cup was a great achievement for the club in its first season, and it's certainly a competition which has been kind to me. We ended one era by winning, and have now started another by winning it.

“I think we will just miss out on promotion, which is disappointing after such a good season, but it was a string division this year, and we will just have to build on what we have achieved next year.”

Meanwhile, CB Hounslow United, who had no match this week, finish their season at Staines Lammas tomorrow, but should already be safe from relegation if they are awarded the points from their postponed game against Dorking.

In the Premier Division, Hanworth Villa took bragging rights in their derby against Bedfont Sports on Monday, winning 3-0 with goals from Josh Hughes, Andrew Juett and former Bedfont skipper Adam Turner.

This followed a 2-2 draw at Raynes Park Vale for Villa on Saturday (Juett, own goal) and a 3-3 draw for Bedfont against Wembley (Jamie Read 2, Darryl Sanders). Villa visit Epsom & Ewell tomorrow and Horley Town on Tuesday, while Bedfont host champions South Park tomorrow.
