Brentford are a better side than the one beaten 5-0 by Norwich at the start of December, according to Crystal Palace loanee Sullay Kaikai.

The Bees were outclassed by the Canaries and goals from Jacob Murphy, Graham Dorrans, Robbie Brady, Nelson Oliveira and man of the match Alex Pritchard sent Dean Smith's side to a heavy defeat.

The Brentford squad held a dressing room inquest, which has been compared to the row conducted at Stevenage in 2013, and have picked up seven points from a possible 12 since then.

And Kaikai believes those talks helped sow the seeds for the recent upturn in form.

Brace: Sullay Kaikai

“Since that game, as a team and as a squad we've improved and the results tell that. We'll be confident going into that game,” he said.

“It hurt that day and we had crunch talks after and identify what was wrong. We put that into place and picked up results of late.”

Kaikai will be hoping to be included in Dean Smith's starting XI after his two goal showing against Cardiff on Boxing Day.
