Antonio Conte insists Cesc Fabregas still has a role to play for Chelsea - despite playing just 26 minutes for the Blues so far this season.

Fabregas is reportedly unsettled at life on the bench and is said to have sought assurances from Conte about the role he will play in the team.

The Spaniard was instrumental in the 2014/15 title-winning season but stagnated badly last year under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink and was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer, but stayed put.

And amid rumours of interest from AC Milan ahead of the January transfer window, Conte spoke out and revealed the midfielder is giving him a selection dilemma with his performances in training.

“Cesc is in my plan, in Chelsea’s plan," he said.

“We all know he is a fantastic player.
