QPR forward Conor Washington has hailed the the Hoops' attack following their 4-2 victory over Peterborough United yesterday.

Ian Holloway's men had clearly been working hard behind the scenes as they showcased an improvement in their attacking movement, with Jamie Mackie, Yeni Ngbakoto and Washington all working closely with target man Matt Smith in the final third.

Speaking exclusively to Get West London, Washington said: "It’s something we’ve been working on.

"The pitch was a bit of a hindrance for playing flowing, attacking football. On another day I think we go away three or four goals up by half-time.

"We don’t want to be hitting the ball up to him every time, but if teams are going to press us high up the pitch then it’s a great option to have, and from there we need to get on wavelength to know where the next ball is going."

Washington also praised the Posh for his warm reception on his return to the club.

The striker signed for QPR from the League One side for £2.5m, and the 25-year-old said it was pleasing to put in a good display on his return.

He said: "It was great to be back and to see the lads, the gaffer and the fans. They really made me feel welcome the first time I was hear and it was nice to be back, and even nicer to pick up a good result and a performance to go with it."
