Match-winner Scott Parker insists the confidence has returned to Fulham following the Boxing Day victory over Norwich City.

Parker got the winner as the Whites triumphed 2-1 over the Canaries at Carrow Road but they remain in the bottom three tonight.

Their position in the drop zone is only based on goal difference though after Crystal Palace dramatically beat Aston Villa this afternoon to haul themselves into 17th place.

And former Chelsea and Spurs midfielder Parker says today’s three points have seen the club turn the corner after a run of eight defeats in the previous nine games.

“It’s massive,” Parker told Sky Sports. “We came into this period of four games and said we needed to get some points on the board.

Christmas cracker: Scott Parker smashes in the winner

"Today, we were first-class at times. We showed a bit of resilience and the other side of us as well, we played a little bit and got the win.

“We need to carry on now. It’s a difficult period but the Christmas period can really make or break you - that’s how important it is. We had to dig very deep and in the second half I thought we always looked a threat.

“Confidence-wise, it looks like we’ve turned a bit of a corner. We need to keep going and not rest on our laurels. We set our targets and need to carry on now. I thought we deserved the win today.”

Fulham will have another chance to climb out of the danger zone on Saturday when they travel to the KC Stadium to take on Steve Bruce’s Hull.
