Jack Saville, James Harper and Jon Nurse are all being released from their contracts, although Allen praised each of their professionalism, bravery and attitude, and has invited the trio to attend pre-season in July.

In addition, Sam Muggleton and Conor Dymond are returning to their parent clubs - Gillingham and Crystal Palace, respectively while Kieran Cadogan has announced he is leaving  following 23 appearances for the Conference Premier side.

This  all comes as part of Allen's overhaul of aspects of the club, which he has dubbed "surgery", following his appointment in March.

Disappointment at falling short of the play-offs was swiftly discarded by the new coach, who is looking to the future now, and working to shape a new squad capable of living up to their potential and securing the move up to Football League Two.

After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Braintree Town on Monday, Allen was straight to the point.

“We’ve been polite and nice today but the bottom line is we’re mid-table. There are part-time clubs finishing above Barnet so something isn’t right. The aim [next season] will be to win each game and do as best we can. We’ve got to do some surgery and work is needed without a shadow of a doubt."
