Chelsea won't stand in way of De Bruyne departure

Blues happy to let attacker go and make a reported profit of more than £10million

Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne

Chelsea will be happy to let Kevin De Bruyne go after receiving two bids for the out in the cold attacker.

The Belgian international has only made three first team appearances since joining the Blues from Genk in 2012, spending time on loan back at his former club and at Werder Bremen.

But with German side Wolfsburg thought to be closing in on the 22 year old, Chelsea are ready to cash in and make a tidy profit on the £7million they shelled out two years ago.

Boss Jose Mourinho said: “Kevin has a chance to go, we have had two bids from different clubs. He is a player Chelsea have had a couple of proposals for, and we are analysing them. One of them is coming to a level where we believe it can be a good situation for the player and the club.

“We know he is a fantastic player with a lot of potential and we would be happy to keep him, but we have to analyse the player's personality, and if he wants so much to go, maybe it's a good option in a very good deal for the club.

“We bought him for a small fee and can sell him for a very positive amount. Nothing has been agreed, but the interest is big from the club, and even bigger from the player.

"We don’t need a direct replacement. I think the reason why we open the door to negotiate is because it’s a position where we have options. It’s not a position where you sell somebody and you run to cover the position."
