Friday Night Football is serving up a treat this week, as Chelsea host Liverpool to kick-off a weekend of football.

The Blues are flying high, unbeaten in the league under their new manager, although they will be looking to bounce back with a win after their 2-2 setback at the Liberty Stadium last Sunday.

On that occasion, Diego Costa's brace secured a point in Wales against Swansea, with the Spaniard back to his fiery best having already notched four Premier League goals this season.

Can Chelsea keep up their fine start against a rejuvenated Liverpool? Keep up to date with all the news, views and updates on our live blog.

Conte has left..

And with that, we are off too.

Thank you all for joining us on the blog for Friday night football. It was an enthralling game.

A poor Chelsea performance will not be the ideal way for many Blues fans to kick off the weekend, but one defeat in five is not bad for a team which struggled last season.

The Conte quotes will be available online shortly.

Chelsea are one

We win together, we lose together. I don’t want to repeat a bad season like last year.

We must feel the danger in every moment of the game. If we want to win.

Chelsea is a great team, we must show this in every single game.

Conte issues stark reminder

It’s not my first defeat, it’s our defeat. This defeat is Chelsea’s defeat.

There are other players, staff, people who work at the club. It’s important to understand that every single game is tough.

We mustn’t forget last season. It’s important, because last season was bad. I don’t want to repeat that.

Conte explains substitutions

We started with the same players as first half. You see in the other game, we created many chances to score and get the draw. For this reason i waited to make the substitutions. The last ten, fifteen minutes, I changed the players.

Conte:

The first from a free-kick taken quickly, the second after a throw-in, the ball is free, he then shoots from long distance. A good goal.

When you give away two goals in this way, i think it’s very difficult.

Against Liverpool, you play with a good team. These are tough games. You must be patient in every moment, every single minute, every second.

Klopp has left the building

The opposition manager is on his way out now.

I wonder how Antonio Conte will react to his first defeat?

I daresay he was extremely animated on the touchline during the match.

Is Liverpool's run sustainable? Klopp thinks so.

“I manage this in 16 years, every day someone asks me about this.

“There’s always someone saying it’s too intense.

“It’s not about intensity, it’s about finding a solution to stop your opponent.

“That’s all. We defend together. It was not that intense. I have no idea how much we ran, but it’s about the most simple kind of playing football, then at the end someone shoots.”

Klopp football?

“We were really awake then, defended really good. Organised.

“They started getting really direct, we had this one free kick in a difficult position, but the rest was really well defended.

“I only think about Klopp football because everyone is asking me about it! I like good football.”

Klopp pleased with 'intense' start

“Very intense, lively, flexible. Our build up was great. I was really happy with the start of play.

“Our problem was that we stopped sometime after 37.

“We had the chance at half-time to talk about this.”

Free-kick in a dangerous area

Lucas fouls Hazard right on the edge of the box.

This will be a chance for Chelsea. Right on the edge of the 18 yard box...

Luiz steps up..

But it was Fabregas who slammed it into the wall.

Correction: TRIPLE substitution

Moses joins Fabregas and Pedro in coming on.

Matic, Oscar and Willian leave the pitch.

Can Chelsea do it?

Chance for Chelsea!

Close again!
The ball goes forward, Oscar heads down for Costa, on the edge of the box.

The Spaniard takes a touch, then swivels and fires a shot. Unfortunately for him, it foes straight at Mignolet.

GOAL! Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool

Nemanja Matic goes on a marauding run down the left.

He beats a half-hearted tackle, and taps the ball back to Costa.

Unsurprisingly, the Blues’ top scorer finishes with aplomb. Game on!

Substitution: Sturridge off, Origi on

Daniel Sturridge is subbed off, with Divock Origi the man to replace him.

He gets a chorus of boos from the Bridge.

ONE minute added on

The referee has added an extra minute onto this first half.

The Blues have been woeful, Liverpool superb.

Can Conte turn this around at half time?

Goal! Chelsea 0 - 2 Liverpool

Jordan Henderson. Oh my word.

A poor Chelsea clearance sees the ball reach the England midfielder some 30 yards out.

He doesn’t hesitate, however, and unleashes a fantastic effort into the top corner, with Courtois helpless.

What a strike.

Double trouble: Liverpool celebrate their second

Close!

Sturridge is released down the left after Chelsea expect to be given a throw-in, but it goes the other way.

The former Blues man comes inside, sells Ivanovic some step overs and then fizzes an effort wide of the far post.

Ouch

Oof, that looks nasty.

David Luiz clashes in the air with Sadio Mane, and has a bloodied face.

Play stops while he receives treatment.

Goal! Chelsea 0 - 1 Liverpool

Wow.

Coutinho receives a quick free kick out on the left for Liverpool, and whips in a wicked ball to the far post.

The visitors’ centre-back is lingering, and he volleys beyond the outstretched claw of Courtois.

Chelsea have not been at the races quite yet.

Goal: Dejan Loven opens the scoring

Well, now...

Liverpool win a corner but it’s cleared by the first man.

The Reds rescue it, only for England international Jordan Henderson to slam a volley comfortably over the bar from 25 yards.

Wave of Blue

This is better from Chelsea.

The Blues are switching it side-to-side and the visitors cannot clear their lines.

Diego Costa and Eden Hazard looking particularly potent here.
