Loic Remy wants to wipe the slate clean at Chelsea and start afresh next season under Antonio Conte.

The French forward has been plagued by injuries since joining the club two years ago from west London neighbours QPR.

Remy has made less than 50 appearances in that time and mustered just 12 goals for the Blues.

New boss Conte has already sealed the departures of loan flops Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato and Remy had widely been expected to follow them out of the door.

Clubs in Turkey have long been linked with a swoop.

Alvaro Morata remains on Chelsea’s radar and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has stopped short of confirming the Spaniard would remain at the Bernabeu in the long term.

However, a deal for the former Juventus striker looks increasingly difficult for Conte to close out and Remy’s future will become clearer as the transfer window unfolds.

As far as the player is concerned it is business as usual as preparations continue for the new season and he got 10 minutes under his belt in Saturday’s defeat in Vienna.

Remy hopes that a new manager presents a chance to battle his way back into the Chelsea fold.

He told the club’s website: “It’s good to be back and for me it’s very important that I don’t have any more injury problems this season,’ he tells the official Chelsea website.

“The preparation is very important for me, I feel really well so far but it’s a long time since I played.

“Last year was very difficult for me because I had a lot of injuries, but this is a new page now. I hope to stay free from injuries and to have a better season.

“I feel very good. The preparations are very different to what we did last season and the one before. With the new staff we have been working very hard and even though the result against Rapid Vienna was disappointing I think we will win the next game.

“All the players want to be involved in the new project, the commitment is there and there is no reason for us not to be ready for the first game of the season.”

Michy Batshuayi arrival represents another rival for Remy’s place in the starting XI and the Belgian new boy linked up with his new club in training for the first time yesterday.

Defender Kurt Zouma also took part in the session to boost his chances of making a long-await return at the start of the new campaign.

Chelsea’s Austrian adventure comes to an end on Friday after playing their second match of the mini-tour against RZ Pellets on Wednesday.
