Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that Pedro is the “perfect” player to be part of his 3-4-3 system due to his qualities on and off the ball.

Pedro was signed by Jose Mourinho last summer but struggled to make an impact in west London after moving from Barcelona.

But this year has seen the Spaniard return to his old self after a change of formation by Conte has brought the best out of him.

He has two goals this term – including the fastest goal of the season so far against Manchester United.

Conte chose to revert to the 3-4-3 system he used at both Juventus and Italy following a winless run of matches, but since the change Chelsea have won six from six and are yet to concede a goal.

Speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport Conte said: "Pedro? He has qualities of absolute excellence. He's perfect for the 3-4-3."

Conte has also praised Pedro’s fellow forwards Diego Costa and Eden Hazard by saying: "As for Diego Costa, he is one of the best strikers in the world. For us it's not just important that he's a goalscorer, but that he works for the team

"Eden's talent is beyond question, he's a world class player and a great lad. He has a surprising maturity for his age."
