Chelsea have recalled Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon from their loan spells at Reading.

The pair will not be eligible to play for the Blues in their remaining Premier League fixtures.

However, Chelsea chiefs are keen to get a closer look at the duo as attention turns to next season.

Hector and Piazon will train with the first-team squad ahead of the summer break and will be assessed by the club’s coaching staff.

Towering defender Hector was a suprise deadline day signing last summer before being immediately loaned back to the Royals for their Championship campaign.

Piazon is less of an enigma to Chelsea fans after starring in the club’s FA Youth Cup triumph in his first season in London after joining in August 2011.

He also enjoyed first-team experience with the Blues as well as loan stays at Malaga, Vitesse and Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Reading last summer.

Chelsea have four Premier League games remaining and resume their campaign on Bank Holiday Monday with the visit of Tottenham.

Spurs are still in the hunt for the title but it will be beyond their reach if Leicester beat Manchester United on Sunday.
